POTD 1-17-07

If you like nature, you'll love Colorado! Colorado Springs itself is a modern city with everything you need, but...there are a lot of little mountain towns not too far away where there are not many luxuries to be found. I'm amazed at how many people live with only the bare necessities. I sometimes wish I could live like that, but have been spoiled with modern convienences, like the toilet.
My DH and I enjoy exploring these little mountain towns, getting lost in the nature (as long as we have a map to get home) This time of year, we especially like to snowshoe and thankfully we've had nice amounts of snow to do so. To me, this sign symbolizes the mentality of our state. We value our land and do what we need to do to protect it. I would not classify myself as an activist really, but...do want to do what I can to protect the environment so we can appreciate these same trails 100 years from now. It's what makes Colorado in my opinion.
I guess in many ways I consider the entire state of Colorado my hometown because I like to get out and enjoy all it has to offer. (Taken in natural light, ISO 200. AP 3.2. )
