I really like using cookbooks. I'm not great at being able to know what goes with what, so to me, cookbooks are like Cliff Notes for the kitchen. Does anyone remember Cliff Notes? These are just some of my cookbooks, the ones I use most often. My favorite being the Fix it and Forget it cookbook for the crockpot. I absolutely love to cook that way because I can leave it on all day and literally, forget it until dinnertime.
I would like to say this was the meal I prepared for tonight, but sadly...just a pick and shoot shot for me I'm afraid.

you and i are soooo alike! i have four of those books! and i LOVE my fix it and forget it! so easy to just throw in the food and walk away! your composition on this is great!

Oooh! I want to get that book! Ive got a Company's Coming slow cooker recipe book - which is great too. I was completely going to take photos of my recipe books today. Now I'll have to be more creative! I think of this as food for thought!
I have a whole stack of cookbooks too. I have the Fix & Forget Crockpot one also. I love me some crockpot cooking. I'm inspired to drag it out and make something tonight in it. Heather, your shots are always exposed so great and your color just pops. I just love the way they look on my monitor. You rock!
Love the composition on the cookbook shot and the dof on the recipe. I enjoy looking at cookbooks and trying new recipes, but unfortunately my family is not too adventurous when it comes to new foods! Do you ever watch the food network - I watch it if I'm home working in the kitchen on Saturday mornings.
The shot of the books is really neat, not much of a cookbook collector though :)
Oh, fun! Your DOF ROCKS on that second photo! I hope you use your cookbooks more frequently than I use mine! :P LOL! I so need to start cooking more!
great idea for your POTD, i like the way you think outside of the box! nice colors and comp. i like the DOF on the second one, except now I can't figure out the end of the recipe! lol.

I also have a large collection of cookbooks. My favorite is my Disney Mickey Mouse vol 2 cookbook. I really like the interesting focus in the last shot. So cool.

Nice shots and your texture on the pirouette wafers from the day before is awesome. Those are good though! Hope you're feeling well!
