How about opposite of the sun? POTD 4.9.07

Well...normally sunshine would not be hard, for we have lots of it! However...at the moment, we have more of the opposite, so just consider this a different take on the theme for the week. I LOVE the way the ice crystalized on the trees during this last storm, just gorgeous and reminded me of a winter wonderland. You may or may not remember...I'm one of the weird ones that love the winter, so Spring is always a little bittersweet for me. I love flowers and new growth, but I also grieve a little too and long for fall to come again. For these shots, I took a little walk around our neighborhood and had fun. I think if DH had not called me in from the cold, I could have probably filled up all 16GB of memory!

I took most of these with my 100 2.8 macro and changed the ap from 2.8-11 and varied my SS.

gorgeous shots! Makes me want a cold winter. Those nature shots can be addicting - they don't move around so much!

It does look like a winter wonderland. Great job working with your environment. These are beautiful macro shots. That is the lens I rented a couple weekends ago. Did you use a tripod when taking these and was it windy outside? I had trouble with keeping the camera steady enough and with the wind. I did use manual focus and might have to give that lens another try, because I just love the detail you get with it. I was just a little frustrated with the results I got.
