The middle child...er...dog. POTD 5.22.07
This is Draco. He is the most skiddish Rat Terrier you'll ever meet. He will scale walls and fences during a Thunder Storm to try and get away (I always wonder where he thinks he's going to go.) Draco is always under foot, making sure you're there with him. He has his very own down comforter that he sleeps with at night and he'll be at your feet when you wake up. He LOVES to play and being a very muscular dog, he can get rough. Draco is one of the most alert dogs ever and his ears stay perked up like in these shots, even when he's sleeping. He's a good dog and yup-not ours once again. This is another of my inlaws canines. You'll meet the baby tomorrow. We really need to get our own dog and I really want a miniature schnauzer. I've even got names picked out. Gandolph or Frodo for a boy and Regina for a girl. Can you tell I've been thinking of this for a while now?

these are great photos of your in-laws dog. he sure looked like he knew how to pose for you...thanks for the comment on my blog...being new it's nice to see people are looking at it.... hope to bring more.
May I just say that your last few posts are just fantastic! I cracked up when I saw today's, though, because I just posted one similar of my own dog. He is resting his chin on a chair a lot like that! Anyway, Draco has beautiful eyes... Great captures of him.
Yesterday's poodle pics are great as well. But my favorite from the last few days is the shot of you and your ds. It is a WONDERFUL shot!!! You both look so happy and natural. It's just perfect. Of course, I also really like the shots of ds wrapped up in his little "emotional attachment", too. All great!
love these, but I am a sucker for a cute dog...I must say you are very brave to consider getting a dog with small children.
I would love a dog, but that's just one more person to clean up after LOL
These are so cute! i esp. like the 2nd shot....but I love the first one too.....hmmm,I guess it's a tossup I like them both. I wish my Puff would st still long enough for me to get some pics of him. Hey, you're so good at this, do you think you could take some of Puff? :) It's only about a 27 hour drive. I know bc my MIL lives in Colorado too, about an hr ouside of Denver, the little Valentine town:) Loveland. Beautiful Place, we lived there for a while, but you know what they say..."You can take the girl out of the South......yea yea and besides, it's so darn COLD:) I'm freezing just thinking about it:)
My in-laws had a rat terrier when I first dated my DH. her name was Mindy, and she was black, black black.
leave it to you to be able to capture a doggie's persona when you take their portrait! I'm impressed.
This is just hilarious - love it.
Thanks for comments yesterday. I had hoped to get back and play them but time just got away. Not really sure how to color pop.
These are wonderful doggie portraits! i love the first one! He looks like such a good dog~ it looks like you really captured his personality in these pictures~ i can totally picture this dog doing all the things you listed!
Beautiful shots!
What a cutie pie! I love his ears... we used to have a dog whose ears stayed up like that... all the time.
He is so cute! I love the first one. DD and I have been wanting a dog again. We can't decide on a breed but the mini schnauzer is on our list too along with boston terrier and french bulldog. Then german short-haired pointer . . . yah we're all over the board, but we have names picked out already too LOL!
he is too stinking cute! love the colors and that second one should definitely be gifted to your in-laws! great job!
He is very regal looking. It must be so stressful for him to have all the responsibility of protecting everyone from the big bad thunder. ;)
My dh and I have said the Gracie is our one and only dog. When she's gone, our children will be gone and we'd like to be free to travel. OTOH, we have the names of our next dog picked out. LOL
I'd love to meet Draco! Look at those eyes!!! Great shots, Heather. Awesome.
Is Draco named after Malfoy in Harry Potter?
Too cute! Love those ears! You have cute in-laws! LOL
Thanks for visiting my blog. My niece started decorating cakes for 4H projects. She says it's therapy for her. She does some really amazing wedding cakes - wow!
Oh - that first one had me laughing out loud (which is hard to do when I'm sitting here alone at the computer!) SOoooooo funny! Nice DOF here - really makes his little face POP!
Draco is so cute! Great shots of him, love those ears, so alert! Sounds like you have already made up your mind about getting a dog of your own. Go for it.
I know I've posted once but I was tagged by Sue and your name is the same as mine so naturally I'm tagging you:) Check out my blog for details:)
Nice pictures of the dogs, both yesterday and today. Sounds like you really love them. I hope you get one of your own someday soon.
those pictures are wonderful! Really great job with color and focus on those. Beautiful dog. I want one too. I totally have a name picked out - for a girl, because I want a girl dog :)
