More like hate if you ask me... POTD 2.22.07

What some people won't do to protest the war. This is one of a series of anti-war slogans at our local park, spray painted by someone/someones. If you ask me...this is not the way to show your dissaproval, will only fuel more anger and hate and we have too much as it is. I debated whether or not to even take this photo, but ultimately decided that it was more for documentation for the baby album I'm making for DS. I'm doing a layout of "issues of today" and the war is THE issue of today. I totally respect all views and believe in freedom of speech, I just don't like it when people feel it necessary to deface property and vandalize because they can.

Natural light, ISO 200, Ap 11. Can't remember SS, forgot to write it down. I used Bella's pastel action here and then, bumped the curves/levels to blow it out a bit...adding to the mood I was in;)

Neat picture and story behind it!...I'm sorry that public property was defaced liked that. This bench reminds me of the one in my backyard and it's giving me spring fever!! I love to sit there after working in the yard all day!

Love what you did on the conversion, very moody, and photojournalistic (is that the right word?) I don't understand why people feel the need to do *this* either. Great shot at capturing that mood.

Hmmm...I see what you mean.

If I hadn't read your post, I would have seen it at face value, Graffiti, for sure, but not anti-war. Interesting perspective and I like the photo a lot!

i too would not have seen it at face value, but now am bothered by it. my kids' dad is over there and i am constantly amazed at the cruel things that are said in front of them...even by their peers. great photo and conversion btw!

Wow, what a powerful image you've captured. Your conversion really adds to the feeling of the picture.

Totally would not have guessed anti-war. I like how you give perspective and provide the details. Great shot :)

I love the contrast (love:hate, light:dark etc.) in this photo! It's too bad that someone felt the need to do this when there are so many constructive ways to make a point.

Powerful for sure, but what a great photo you've captured.

Totally stinks that people think it's ok to deface property that belongs to everyone! You did a great job at capturing this anti-war protest. TFS
