Better than fingerpainting! POTD 2.27.07

I love acrylic paints! I discovered how to use them in my scrapbooks and have been hooked ever since. But...even more than just loving them straight out of the bottle, I like to custom blend the colors to fit the exact color I want. I will paint on the page, on embellishments, or on chipboard, the sky is the limit when it comes to my acrylics. The best thing is that I discovered WalMart sells them for about $.44 a bottle, saving me $. That makes me love them that much more! I played around in PS today, trying to create a poor mans high key, deciding whether or not I really want a lightbox. I found one on ebay, but have been debating for months. I actually took this on top of the armoire in my sons nursery. I used a screen layer for the first time, changing the opacity to 50%. I think I'm in love with the screen layer, it's so easy to use...I had NO idea! I like the look so I think I will probably invest in an actual lightbox shortly...just too much fun.

Great shots - love the second one. I would love to see what you use the paints on. I have used them for ornaments - and that's about it ;)

I never would have guessed you didn't take these in a light box. I was thinking looking at the pics that I need to get a light box together.LOL. I'm jealous that you actually have time to SB. I really need to get busy doing some. I love all the effects you get with the different types of layers. I'm going to revisit the screen layer. Love the colors in your shots and the set up.

Nice shots! I love acrylic paints too! Soo many things you can alter and paint with them. And you're so right on...mixing them gives a guaranteed perfect color. TFS

Awesome. But I have to tell ya...I am an expert when it comes to mixing acrylic paints. I can almost guarantee that no matter what colors I mix together, my result will be a color that resembles a cross between mud and vomit. So if you ever have a project that calls for mud or vomit color, you found your girl!

Screen layers, huh? :)
I like these, and love learning these facts about my pea buddies. I like your second shot better, IMO the first one's distortion bothers me a little bit.
