Sticking out your tongue. POTD 6.4.07

Didn't your mom ever tell you not to stick your tongue out as someone? How RUDE! it's quite the habit to break if you get really used to it. Obviously this giraffes momma didn't inform him that it was impolite.

The rest of these are some other shots I got of the giraffes. We took A to the zoo for his first time and he LOVED the giraffes. He got to pet and feed them and I think that just fascinated him. So glad I decided to lug around the camera all day. For those that have never been, our zoo is on a mountain and has tons of hills and uphill climbs. While normally it can be an effort, try carrying around a big camera/lens as well as being pregnant! HA! Thank God for water and for a husband, he/he.

How funny!! We just went to the zoo and got to see the Giraffe's do this with the tongue.. I never knew they did that. DH says "well how did you think they got the top leaves?......" IDK:) Never thought of it:) LOL. The kids sure got a kick out of it though:)

AWesome shot! I LOVE that first one. I would sell it to the zoo or something - it would look great on a brochure.

Isn't it so neat to feel that little life inside you? I like those first movements (can't say i love the later ones as much) ;) Congrats!

That is so great, love how you incorporated it into a bad habit! Giraffe's are pretty cool. Great pictures.
Congrats on feeling the baby move, that is so cool the first time!

These are just fantastic...I love watching giraffes! I especially like the first and last the best.

I LOL at your comment on the pink dogwood on my blog. If only you had seen me trying to get that shot. Tree branches stuck in my hair (as I was kinda inside the tree), tripod straddling scubbery, reaching as far out as my arm would reach with my diffuser in hand, as there were spots on sunlight coming in from the back. And then when i pulled it up in PS I thought it was a throwaway, as I had underexposed it. Glad the salvage worked!

OMG, I love this shot! Too funny. The rest of them are really great too... I really like the angle on the 2nd to last one. Looks like it was worth lugging around the camera! =) And very exciting about feeling the baby move... congrats!!

OMG I love these!! Of course I'm partial to Giraffes, they're my favorite. When DD was 2 & 3 she use to call them "mommy's favorite giraffe". I think she thought that's what they were called LOL!

The first shot is awesome! Congrats on the baby moving around, use to love that!

Wow, you really caught me off guard with the first photo. I was thinking, "What the.....?" Great, Great Photo. I agree, you need to see if the zoo will purchase that photo. Congrats on feeling the little one move!

This makes me want to take a trip to the city...where the biggest zoo in the area is.

I love the first shot. Giraffes have very powerful tongues to get at those Acacia leaves. I love giraffes, too.

Wow, you did a really nice job on these. Glad you had fun at the zoo.

Isn't it so exciting when you get to feel the baby move and be able to share it with someone else. It's really cool when you can start to name the body parts as they roll across your belly. :)

Fabulous shots of the giraffe! How cool that A got to pet and feed one. Sounds like a fun day despite all the uphill walking.

The second to last is awesome! Which lens did you use? A zoom is next on my list- These would be really cute in a safari themed nursery! HMMMM!
