Boys and bubbles. 7.25.07

We finally had a non-windy day (or so we thought) We've been trying to play bubbles with little A for the longest time and the wind has just not been cooperating. Of course, it does not help that we have dollar store bubbles, but geesh...Daddy started to blow bubbles, and they went in the complete opposite direction of A, so then, he tried sitting in a different place and wind would shift directions. It became comical after a while. Besides...I'm not sure little A knew exactly what to do with the bubbles, he may be a bit young still. We'll try it again very soon.

Funny how you guys made a comment about my color. I've been wrestling with trying to find the "right" color for a while. I decided to try something different, both in camera and then, in PSing. I'll try to explain it.

So...I changed my color setting to Adobe RGB both in camera and in PS and it's been an amazing transformation. Then...before posting for web, I will change it to sRGB because that's what most online peeps use. I've been pleased so far but still working out the details-don't know if that ever really stops.

For PS work, I defog(usually at 10-30-0), then if needed, sponge the background at an opacity of 10%. After that I will duplicate the layer and set mode to soft light, adjusting the opacity to taste. I then flatten the image and burn edges if desired at opacity of 10-15%. I hope that can help someone like its helped me.

These are GORGEOUS, Heather. I think that I have my camera set up the same way and I've been very pleased with the colors I'm getting, too. Wow! Those bubbles are so crisp and detailed. I wish I could get bubbles that look that great! Very nice!

Thanks for sharing ~ I too have been struggling with the color on my 5D. I'll have to check my settings first:) Love the picture of his little hand reaching out for the bubble, so sweet!

So you change your color profile back and forth in PS for every pic? I'll go back and re-read what you said about that... I've definitely been having color profile issues, and it's a headache that's definitely not fun to deal with- lol! Thanks for the tip!

Onto your (fab) photos.... love the look of intense concentration on your hubby's face- too cute! I love that last photo of A, too... those chubby little hands are so cute!

I love the last one. You could make a scrapbook with just the photos on A's hands and whatever object he's reaching towards. :) Too cute.

For the record...just switch to Olympus and you won't have to do all that color stuff. LOL < wink >
