Take 1!
Ever have one of those days where NOTHING goes right? We had that day yesterday. My family wants some pics of us before baby is born, so...we packed up and headed to one of favorite places, Garden of the Gods park.
It's the BEST scenery ever, with views of Pikes Peak and red rocks and so much more. The only thing is in order to get away from all the tourists, you have to climb and get into some alcoves/uncomfortable nooks and crannys. Normally, not a problem, we do that sort of thing all the time. However...trying to stabilize a tripod when you're about 9months preggo, NOT a good idea!
We got there and all I had in the bag was my wired remote, which allows about 2 feet away from the camera/tripod. That burst my bubble because I had all these terrific ideas, but...we tried to make lemonaid out of lemons. Andrew was in a cranky mood, it started to pour rain, I dropped my lens cap over a cliff and nearly broke my leg. Those were the highlights. We are going back next week with a wireless remote and lot of snacks for the little son.
For all the POTD-ers out there that follow themes for the week. this week is faith.
My DH, Andrew and baby #2 represent God's faithfulness to me more than anything on Earth can. To say that they are miracles would be an understatement. I marvel at where we are 2 years after loosing our daughter Kendall. I'm glad that God didn't give up on me even though I wanted to give up on Him. I'm humbled that He allowed us to have other children after our loss and hope that I can remember that when walking through difficult times ahead.
I am so grateful for the faith of my DH to carry me through the times I had none. He is truly my soul-mate and best friend and I could not have come out on the other side without him.
My boys are constant reminders that God loves me and is forever faithful!

SO cute. I love the face squish!!! I'm sorry you had such a bad go of things. Thank God you didn't actually break your leg. Bummer about your lens cap. Everyone has days like that, preggers or not. :)
I am on the same page with you, but your eloquence and humor humbled me.
I suspect this day will become a very funny piece of family legend...hopefully, soon!
WOW...sounds like quite an adventure! i love the last photo with all faces all squished together - too cute!!
Great pics. Your post is a lot like mine!
Love, LOVE it!! That squishy-face picture is priceless! Bummer about the crazy happenings just to get a photo though. :( I also lost a baby (thought I wasn't as far along as you) before Jackson was born, and it really made me appreciate even more the incredible miracle that he is, and I'm sure you feel the same way... it was nice to read your sentiments on that. I can't wait to "meet" your new little one. P.S. You look beautiful... it's so fun to see a pic of you!
Sorry to hear you had a trying day. You are pretty brave to do a location shoot at 9 months pregnant - when I was that far along I didn't want to move! :-) You got some great photos from it, both are adorable!
Isn't amazing how God sees us through EVERYTHING. Through the good times and the not so good times. He is there! I absolutely love that picture of the 3 of you!

What a cute family you are and I love this photo. Sure you will retake and get perfection but this one will always have the story that you will remember. I can't wait to see your new little one!

Those shots are just adorable in spite of all the challenges getting them. :) Can't wait to see what you post next!
I love that first one. Father/son ones always get me and I love the laugh. Nice to see you on the other side of the camera too.
