A little PS goes a long way.
This is a fun week! I like seeing all the PP skills and am taking notes;) I wish I really knew how to use photoshop to all its abilities, but at least...feel somewhat comfortable with what works for me.
So, the first is the shot in color. Not bad, but I felt it lacked depth and just needed something a little different. It had too many colors going on and therefore, felt distracting. I also felt the girl was a little dark.
So...here is the shot with a free action performed on it. I love Aly's BnW for quick and easy editing when the picture just needs a little something. I did a light USM at 10-30-0(do that with all my shots) I upped the highlights and darkened the shadows a bit after running the action to add a little more contrast. Oh, and I lightened the levels and then, erased back in around the girl at 50% opacity because her hair disapeared in the background.
I used AV mode on this shot, with the Aperture set at 4.5 I believe. ISO was 400.
Not nearly as impressive as some of your PSing skills by far;)

I like it!! I like how you made her hair stand out- that is something I need to figure out. Great job and TFS!
Like the story it tells, great depth and like how you erased back her hair, great idea!
I like them both! What a beautiful girl! I really love the angle - a little out of the box and it totally works!!
