Stormy seas? POTD 5.9.07

OK, this is a HUGE stretch on the theme. I'm thinking this could represent stormy weather. This is the cake my friend made for my DS for his first birthday party. It was amazing...full of such detail and all made out of butter cream frosting. Who knows how long it took her to make, but I can only appreciate the time and effort it took to make this cake. We didn't even want to cut into it, but rather...just admire it for a while. Funny...I can't even tell you what flavor the cake was. The little piggy cake was A's personal cake to dig into. We didn't know what he would do with a cake put in front of him (can't remember if I've ever even given him a piece of cake before.) Well...our wonder was quickly put to rest when he just started putting his hands into the frosting and then, into his mouth. It was hilarious to watch. Eventually, he started getting it all in his eyes, so we had to clean him up. Who knows if he will ever have a cake like this again.

The lighting was pretty poor and I didn't even think about using my flash. This is one of those times I'm very grateful for PS and for these, I used my parents PS that they NEVER use-he/he!

This is ART! My sister decorates cakes this beautifully too, and once you're a pro it comes easy. I sure couldn't do it. I LOVE buttercream icing. Great photos, great memories for little 'A' - especially if he doesn't get to eat cake again!!!
