A bag of Skittles

That's what we look like here, all the colors of the rainbow. You would not believe how cold it was outside and yet, how good the boys were to endure the conditions-especially Nate. I am pleased that we are all at least looking at the camera and smiling. Because of this, I can overlook that blown out white background-yeesh! This is going to be our New Years card picture. I just didn't get organized enough to get out Christmas cards, so I figured I'd start a new tradition by sending out cards in January. In 2008, I really want to focus on getting more of me in pictures since I seem to always be behind the camera. I went through Andrew's baby book and was disspointed to see myself in a handful of photos. I'm going to change that with nate's book, having many more photos of momma.

Oh, and just so you know that my boys (including DH) are not always cooperative, here is what a dozen or so shots before looked like. Don't you just love the remote in my hand? Thank God for LCD screens!!

Beautiful picture, Heather! I have been very successful with the tripod/timer method so far. Thanks also for comments on my blog on gymnastics shots - went to do some more reading to better understand your suggestions. Thanks again for being so inspirational!

Heather, I bet my comment get lost in the shuffle there are soooo many of them, but; I just had to comment on what a simply WONDERFUL family picture this is. All of you look 'beautiful'!! Your two fella's are just too cute, and that smile on little Nate is so precious!! I also like your DH with the 'passie' in his mouth! Shows what a devoted Dad he is!! And the remote showing in that one just doesn't look bad at all, I don't think!!

Good idea for a NY card. I encourage you to take pics of yourself w/the family. I only have a couple shots w/ my first born and my first pic w/DD was when she was 3. Sad huh.

You did a great job with the remote, framing it in advance! And I like the storytelling nature of the photos together. . . especially the way it seems to fall apart by the last photo! Very cute!

Love those smiles!
I'd be happy if there were no more than a handful of pictures of me anywhere, ever!
Gotta get me one of those remotes...

Very nice family photo, Heather! I think your idea of New Year's cards is super. I've gotten a few Valentine ones over the years from people who didn't do Christmas cards, and they were a nice treat.

Love that you posted your outake, too.
Heather, I love that you are so grounded. I like the idea of a new year's card. Your family picture is great!
And I think getting into more pictures is a great goal!

Yes, you should make a point of being in more photos, I wish I would have done this more when my boys were little. Nice picture of the family with such happy smiles! Very colorful. Love the pacifier in hubby's mouth and the remote in the out take-too funny!
