Should come with a warning
I need to join a support group because I'm addicted to texture! It took me a while to really understand how it worked, but the light bulb finally went off and now it's way too much fun. I'm going to have to resist the temptation to texturize all photos now. Here are a few of my first plays. The first photo is pretty much the SOOC with resizing and sharpening and then, the second is the play with texture/actions. I've been testing out Jess' actions, so most of them are hers.
In case you're wondering...you can get a lot of free textures off textureking.com

Ok forget it I can't decide which one I like the best. I keep looking and really my list is all of them. Those textures looks really good on those pics.
Very nice! I love him throwing up the snow.
already commented on that second one that I love, but I also LOVE that boot picture - I actually prefer it without the texture! :O
I haven't played much with textures, but these are really making me want to. I love love love the one on the rocking horsey thing. I think I have an exact picture of that from when my Dad was little! LOL
To answer your question ma'am, yes, I made the canvas 8x8 then cropped my images to 6x4.5. Well, I free-transformed the first one til I got it to look the way I wanted then went back and figured out what the ratio was! I do everything backwards :) Before I get them printed I'll probably add a .25 inch border to ensure they print right.
Love all of these. That last one looks perfectly vintage! Love it!!
Wow--a lot of different looks there, Heather! Looks like A has been enjoying the outdoors.
