Not quite as fast as a speeding bullet.

On New Year's Day, we wanted to take Andrew out for his first sledding run. We didn't know how he would like it, but were quite shocked/pleased when he took to it like a natural! Oh, the giggles and squeals just made my heart leap out of my marshmellow coat. The sun was disappearing behind the trees so it got very cold, very fast. Oh well...all that means is we'll have to go out again really soon.

Gotta unpack the Jeep and get all the gear on.

Poor little dude can barely stand up once it's all zipped and buttoned.

Little A had his own cheering section. "YOU CAN DO IT BABY!"

Here they come down the hill, don't go too fast daddy...

Hanging on for dear life...

Even-though he fell off the sled, he maintained the position...that's my boy!

I think this shot is so funny. Check me out, totally posing for the camera.

We had such a fun time, but now it's time to go home to a nice warm fire and some hot cocoa. We will go out again real soon, that's a promise.

All shots taken with 5D, 24-70L, AV mode, ISO 200-320, Ap 2.8-5.6, SS varied accordingly.

The "assuming the position" shot is so stinking funny! :) I bet you were all exhausted when you got home!

Heather--the 3rd shot with your DH and A on the sled is priceless! The look on A's face is a heart-melter--such joy! Looks like you all had a blast.

Just looking at those pictures is making me cold! Gotta love the 71 degree southern Cali weather we had today. :-P Great captures. Looks like fun!

Oh how fun! This reminds me of when my boys were little and we used to go sledding every chance we got! Now that they are 19 and 22 years old, do you think they would still go sledding with Mom?!?

I love the one of you posing for the camera and the one of little A maintaining the sledding position even without the sled under him. So cute!

Exposure and focus look perfect! Sometimes had to accomplish with so much white snow!

Heather, it looks like you ALL had such a fun time :) I literally laughed out loud at the "maintaining the pose" shot of A, too funny!

Great photos! I especially like 6 and 7 (the one with the back of the sled, and then your little guys facial expression on the next one!)

Your family is just so cute! :) Amazing shots, as always.... we've been having a blast sledding this year, too!

How cute is that! You can tell it was cold by his little red face, but oh so fun! Those are the kinds of things kids seem to remember most.

wow, look at all that snow. Great shots, looks like so much fun. I really like the one of A being pulled back up the hill - great perspective. Your zoo shots from yesterday made me laugh.

So cute! I love the shot of your DH pulling him up the hill. Cool DOF and perspective.

Great shots!

I remember when we took ds out. DH was pulling the sled and I had the video camera. DH pulled him over a bump (no hills) and the sled flipped over and dumped ds. DH laughed SO hard and poor ds didn't move. I need to get rid of that tape before ds takes for it proof of child abuse. ;)

So adorable! Your comment reminds me of A Christmas Story (Ralphie's little brother all bundled up) LOL. Looks like so much fun and your pics tell a great story!

Love these! I especially love the third from the bottom where you DS "maintained the position"..... too cute!

You do such a fantastic job. I'm impressed with the fact that you got "white" snow in your photos. I think snow is hard to get true to color in a picture. Any secrets?
