Aperture example

In photography, the camera lens opening and its relative diameter is called aperture. Measured in f-stops, such as f/8, f/11, etc. As the number increases, the size of the aperture decreases, thereby reducing the amount of light passing through the lens. Don't think too much or you'll get a headache. Mom...this is a little example for you, isn't it cool what changing the number can do?

I took a pic of these do-dads on purpose. I am going to scrapbook this weekend! If I say it out loud, maybe I'll actually do it. I told myself I would not get more than 3 months behind on N's baby book and guess what? He's 3months old and I have not started. Oh, I've got ideas in my head...but have not put those ideas down on paper yet. So, everyone out there...you're my accountability and I no longer have an excuse.

Great example, Heather. I've just added something else to my list of things to macro photograph. Might as well get some use out of all those scrapping supplies I'm not using.

Wow, I can't thank you enough for your show 'n tell examples! This is what I have tried to see clearly enough to tuck it into my brain which has it all backwards! You did me a great favor here, besides presenting exciting photos. I just last night bought the results of months of research: my new Nikon D300! Up to now, all my posts have been with my Oly Point-'n-shoot. I will be absent from posting for awhile while I learn enough to take a few pics. ML
