Purple Mountain Majesty

Well...you can't really see her, she's behind all the fog. I'm fortunate to have Pikes Peak in my backyard. This was taken today, on my way home through the Garden of the Gods park. We live close to GOG and often drive through it to and from places. It's so majestic and awe inspiring. When the weather is good, you see tons of bikers/hikers/walkers/climbers and runners enjoying the scenery too. Due to the bitter weather, today we saw mainly drivers.

24-70L, F11, ISO100, 1/30. I took one shot, turned a quarter to my right and got the vertical. My DH was more than a little nervous for I was standing right on the edge of a rock-definitely risky business. Oh, and on yesterdays post...yup-all natural light. I swear that I'm going to turn that nursery into a studio, but then WHERE would the boys sleep?

Those are gorgeous...that 2nd one looks like a ride at Disney or something (I know, that sounds weird, but it's what I thought of..lol...maybe it's the vicodin??)

I am so jealous that Pike peak is in your back yard...oh how I long to be there!!! Your photos of Garden of the Gods are amazing! I loved it when we were there. It was a rainy day though so I didn't get many photos. I am trying to talk dh into a Colorado summer trip again...it isn't working...I guess I will have to live it through your photos!

This is BEAUTIFUL! How wonderful it must be to live near that incredible scenery.

I'd love to see that mountain one day, without all the fog. :)

Oooo...those colors are just incredible. I bet it sure was a scary ledge. I always tell my DH that at least I would "go" doing something fun. lol. Of course, thats a joke, but he never laughs.

The boys could aways sleep in the front yard, right? That room does have super light.

Can I come live with you for a while??? Just amazingly beautiful scenery!! And you be careful now! I once fell down a 6 foot mud imbankment trying to get that perfect shot! ;)

And...don't know why my pics don't look oversharpened anymore...I didn't change a thing!
